Sunday Post, Sunday Salon, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? July 12 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share our news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz is simply a place for us to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. Sunday Salon is a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

I had a great week off and for the most part did most of what I wanted, mainly biking, virtual decluttering and reading. My Netgalley backlog is quickly dwindling and I've enjoyed the books that had been sitting on that list forever.

There was just one unexpected event: the death of my 17-year old cat Blaise. She had been sick and we finally had to put her down, which was one of the hardest things I ever did. Broke my heart. She was such a sweet cat. We miss her dearly.

Hope you are all well. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I reviewed and/or featured last week:

I enjoyed this one.

I'm excited to have discovered this series. I signed up to the author's newsletter and got a free e-copy of  Shoot Like a Girl, the prequel which I read and loved.

I have Summerset Abbey, but haven't read it yet. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. The Annie Oakley Mystery Series sounds good, too.

  11. It is always so hard to lose a pet. Blaise looks a lot like our cat. 17 years is a good life. I've been concentrating on my Netgalley reads this year too, some have been there over two years. It's so satisfying to see the list reduce.

  12. Sorry about your cat, they are such big parts of the family.

Because I was away from blogging for nearly four years I had to create a new Netgalley account and for once it looks good, how long that will last I do not know!

  13. I'm sorry to hear about your cat but seventeen is a good long life and I'm sure you have great memories. Nice looking group of books too. I need to check out NetGalley and Edelweiss and add some review books. My stack is getting low. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  18. I'm sorry about your cat. We lost our son's cat in January and I miss her. She was small and sweet. Yours looks small too.
You have a lot of good looking books this week. The Annie Oakley books sound like fun.

  19. I'm so very sorry to hear about Blaise, she was a beautiful cat. I know how hard that was, I had to do it for my dog Patches that I had for 18 years. Sending you and your family virtual hugs.
