Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. 10 is just a suggestion to aim for if you can hit it. You can do a list of 3 or 5 or 20, whatever you decide. And you can put a spin on the topic if you need to. Each week there is a new list to create. This week's topic is:
Authors Whose Books I’ve Read the Most
I'm an eclectic reader and book reviewer, so throughout the years I've read lots of new authors, but there are some authors whose books I've read the most. Here are a few:
Lauren Carr
Books read: 19
I've read most books in all of Lauren Carr's mystery series, and although I enjoy them all, my favorite series is the Chris Martheson Cold Case Mystery series. Carr's Geezer Squad has brought sexy back to mature men and women, whose kickass attitude and smarts sizzle as they melt the clues to those cold cases!
Gabriel Valjan
Books read: 7
Valjan's first book in the Roma series made me fall in love with his writing. If you love thrillers revolving around the Italian mafia with intelligent and often humorous repartee and descriptions, a complex but smart plot with a great twist at the end, then you are in for a good time with this book.
Susanna Kearsley
Books read: 5 books
Books by Kearlsey have a mystery/paranormal/historical richness to them. And Bellewether has Canadian history close to home. Although I've read 5 of her books, I have three more on my bookshelf I have yet to read, which I plan to do this fall.
Michelle Cox
Books read: 5
I discovered the Henrietta and Inspector Howard series this year. Atmospheric historical fiction with mystery and romance and a mid-1930s Chicago setting with two main characters reminiscent of the cast from those black-and-white noir movies.
John Grisham
Books read: 10
I was a die-hard fan of John Grisham and read his first ten books and then for some odd reason I stopped reading his books. A Time to Kill first published in 1989, and one of my favorites, is a great book to read for #BlackLivesMatter
As a child and teenager I was an avid reader and I binge-read several authors including the following two:
Judy Blume
Books read: 16 or so
As a teen I devoured Judy Blume's books. Tiger Eyes was one of my favorite. First published in 1981, this is the cover I remember from the version I read.
Gordon Korman
Books read 15 or so
Just looking at the cover brings back so many memories of reading about Bugs Potter's hilarious adventures. I just loved reading Gordon Korman, who was born in Montreal, Quebec.
Have you read any of these authors?
It sounds like I should read A Time to Kill sometime. :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
One of the best he has written.
DeleteJudy Blume was such a mainstay in my childhood. Back in the 70’s and early 80’s I read everything she wrote. She definitely had a big impact on my formative years.
ReplyDeleteYep, she was one of the few edgy YA authors of her time.
DeleteOh, yes, Gordon Korman. I wish I could go back and remember all the books I read in my 20s and 30s and during childhood.
ReplyDeleteVisiting the various TTT lists has made me reminisce about authors I used to read as a child and teen.
DeleteI remember reading Judy Blume as a child, I loved her books!
ReplyDeleteJudy Blume is on my list today, too! I read all her books back in the day. Grisham is an author I used to love, although I haven't been impressed by his newest novels. A TIME TO KILL is my favorite as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Yeah...Judy Blume was the YA author of the 70s and 80s that's for sure. Grisham's first books were the best, I agree.
DeleteI own many of Susannah Kearsley's books and have read a couple. I need to read the rest.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteOh yeah, Gordon Korman and Judy Blume have written quite a few books. Great list! Here's my TTT list.
ReplyDeleteOh I remember Judy Blume being huge when I was in school. :) And the Carr books do sound good!
ReplyDeleteI've read Carr, Grisham, and Blume. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

I’m currently reading my second Judy Blume book. I have a feeling they weren’t allowed in my school library as a kid, so I’m catching up now.
