Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. 10 is just a suggestion to aim for if you can hit it. You can do a list of 3 or 5 or 20, whatever you decide. And you can put a spin on the topic if you need to. Each week there is a new list to create. This week the list is:

Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

I have been wanting to read the Lunar Chronicles forever! My daughter says it was one if the best series she read. What's more, all the reviews I've read throughout the years have been awesome.

I read Divergent and then never picked up the other two books in the series. Also one of my daughter's favorite series. And I haven't seen the sequel movies either because I want to read the books first!

Here's another trilogy I own but have not yet read. I was on a dystopian role back when I read The Hunger Games and picked up a whole bunch of them.

I loved her title The Winemakers and have been wanting to read this one too.

I have read two other books by this author and she is one of my favorites, and this one has been on my TBR for a long time.

Have any of you read these books?
What are some of the books that have been on your TBR list the longest?

  1. I haven't read any of the books on your list but I think I have The Lost Wife on my kindle. I'll have to check.

  2. I haven't read any of those. I don't even want to think about what's been on my TBR the longest - I really need to do another weeding out of books.

  3. I've read the some of the Match Series, the Divergent Series and almost all of the Cinder series. I'm glad I read them when I did because I feel like I've outgrown YA books.

  5. I want to read Cinder so bad, it's been on my TBR forever, but every time I try to get into it I get..bored. And it's one of my parents favorite series, and I cannot do it. I'm thinking I might try to get it on audio and see how it goes.
    Matched is really good too!

    1. I think it's okay if everyone loves a series and you don't. Maybe the expectations were so high or maybe it's just not your cup of tea. :-)

    1. That's happened to me too with books in a series. They're more of an investment and we book bloggers are easily distracted.

  9. I`ve read Divergent and Insurgent, though I won`t pick up the last book. I`ve also had the Lunar chronicles on my TBR for quite a while, but I`m afraid of the hype.

    1. I do think the hype does keep some of us from reading certain books. :-)

  10. I've read a few of these because I wanted to read them with my kids as they transitioned to older material. Divergent did nothing for me, but the movies weren't bad. The girls raved about the Matched series. We read Cinder and started Scarlet, but then they stopped wanting to read together at night. :(

Hope you get to read these soon. Thanks for visiting The Book Connection.

    1. I was sad too when my kids got too old for me to continue reading to them. I stopped when they were 13, but we had a lot of fun years together reading. I miss those years!

  11. I enjoyed Scent of Triumph, and hope you will too when you read it. I haven't read any of the authors other books. The Roth books were a lot of fun, although I know that final book caused some controversy. I'll be curious to know what you think when you get to it! I need to get to the other books in the Lunar Chronicles. I enjoyed Cinder.
