ChickaDEE Magazine: May's Money Issue - Teaching Children About the Value of Money

Children have a natural curiosity about money. Teaching children about money and how to use and spend it wisely is important and I think essential, given the way our youth easily falls into debt today. When Owlkids sent us a complimentary issue of ChickaDEE's May Money Issue, we were thrilled!

My kids poured over the magazine and quickly started reading it, solving the puzzles, and thinking how to apply the money-making tips. There's also an article on how money is made from start to finish with cool pics from the Royal Canadian Mint. I liked the quiz on What Kind of Saver Are You? And of course it's jam-packed with jokes, fun facts, comics and fun illustrations that's found in all of ChickaDEE's issues.

My son's interest in his money collection was renewed and he spent hours organizing it. My daughter took more seriously her spending money, and I was happy to see my kids reading and learning more about money—how to spend, donate and save it.

Both parents and educators can use this resourceful magazine to help children better understand about money. If this is a topic you want to explore more with your kids in a fun and interactive way, I encourage you to pick up a copy today at your local Chapters, magazine store or library. I guarantee your kids will love this issue and so will you.
