Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz is simply a place for us to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. Sunday Salon is a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.
There are officially two months left in the year. How did that happen?
I had a busy work week so I took it easy this weekend. Besides exercising and chores, I read a lot and I watched I Am Woman, which turned out to be the interesting biography of 70s pop star singer Helen Reddy. I'm also enjoying the Moving Art series by cinematographer Louis Schwartzberg. Such stunning views of amazing places on our Earth.
Hope you are all well. Stay safe and take care of each other.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
What I reviewed and/or featured last week:
I'm excited to have discovered this murder mystery by a local author set in my home province of Quebec! For readers who enjoy Canadian literature, this one is appealing and a good autumn read.
I like to read nonfiction books so I'm always excited when I see this challenge, so this year I'm going to finally participate! Do you like to read nonfiction? Are you participating in this too?

I have not heard anything about Moving Art by Louis Schwartzberg until now. Thank you for sharing it. I am happy to say that I found it is on Netflix. I think it might be something I would like.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are going to participate in Nonfiction November. I have a lot of books set aside for this event. I'm especially looking forward to a book on classical music.
Can't wait to see what you think about Midnight Library. I enjoyed it a lot.
Have a good week!
I'll look forward to reading your Nonfiction November posts. I too have a slew of nonfiction books I want to read.
DeleteI’m glad you had a relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to participating in NonFicNov too, I have my start post up already
Wishing you a great reading week
Looking forward to reading your posts!
DeleteHelen Reddy - brings back my high school years.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the Lucy James mystery. I watched Enola Holmes last week. Beautiful production!
Enola Holmes was a hoot. I loved it too.
DeleteThe cognitive behavioral therapy book looks interesting; I am real believer in that. We have an admin in our school district who is encouraging teachers to return to school a bit at a time to help them get over their fears. I think it's a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a smart idea because sometimes a teacher can get stuck in a rut, either when it comes to teaching or facing the ever-changing generations of youth.
DeleteWhat do you think of Midnight Library? Matt Haig is an author I want to read but I haven't yet managed to finish a book of his yet. I left Notes on a Nervous Planet at the halfway point (this one was actually interesting) and couldn't get into How to Stop Time (I read it at a bad time). So I do still want to read his books.
ReplyDeleteSo far so good. It's the first book I read by him, and I decided to read it based on the great reviews I've been reading about it.
DeleteI have to check out the I Am Woman movie. I haven't seen that one yet and it sounds like one I'd like. I hope you enjoy your books. They all look good. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's set in the 70s during women's liberation movement. I thought it was interesting.
DeleteI also watched I Am Woman. I always like Helen Reddy but never realized what difficult life she had. I enjoyed the movie too.
ReplyDeleteI was a kid when she was popular so I remember some of the songs she sang but not her per se.
DeleteOh wow Helen Reddy! And right? How can it be November???
ReplyDeleteI am eyeing The Midnight Library. Enjoy them all, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeletei wish i would have thought to post helen reddy for music monday, but bruce spingsteen was a good choice too. a nice variety of books

Relaxing over the weekend with reading and viewing sounds good after a busy week. Hope the Midnight Library will continue to be good.
ReplyDeleteMoving Art sounds like something we would enjoy. I've added it to my Netflix queue. I keep reading good reviews of The Midnight Library so I need to add it to my list.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
I hope you get to see at least one episode. It truly makes us appreciate the beautiful earth we live on.
DeleteTime passed even while we sheltered at home! Some great looking books (The Locket) and cute, fun ones too. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteCute children's books.
ReplyDeleteTHE BIRDS THAT STAY looks very interesting.
I hope you had a good week.
BIRDS is set in Montreal, Quebec so that was a fun element in the book!
