Sunday Post, Sunday Salon, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? Oct 4 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share our news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz is simply a place for us to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. Sunday Salon is a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

"Mamma Mia, here we go again..." Apart from having watched the movie this weekend (pure escapism) the title reflects what I'm feeling this week. We're back to a partial lockdown and uncertainties at work with things changing on a daily basis. I try not to think too far ahead. One day at a time, focusing on the blessings of the day.

My hubby and I also watched Hope Springs with Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell. It has a stellar cast and funny scenes, but overall, the theme of saving your marriage was strong and serious enough to make any couple reflect on working hard to stay together happy.

Hope you are all well. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

  1. I pretty much take things a day at a time. Sometimes it feels like I get nothing accomplished because of things which are more time-consuming than previously. But there are benefits too. I don't mind being home, it's the uncertainty which is worrying. Be well!

    1. Yeah...I find grocery shopping more time-consuming these days and I hate doing it.

  2. I spend a lot of time keeping my spirits up these days. I think most of us do. But it is much better than falling into a depression. We've got to do it.

I shall look for Hope Springs. Meryl Streep is my favorite.

I will be curious to hear more about The Gentleman and the Thief.

    Have a good week!

  4. "One day at a time" seems to be my current mantra too. I get too stressed out if I think too far ahead.

Windswept and The Gentleman and the Thief look good. Enjoy your week!

  5. It certainly is a tough year for so many, good you can find some entertainment. I wonder what they did in the 1918 flu?

  7. It always seems that I end up with more books on my TBR after I visit other book blogs than I can possibly read in the my life time. It was a weird week. Here's what I have to say about it on my blog

  9. I finally watched Britt-Marie Was Here (free on Prime) this weekend. There are subtitles but I read the book a few years ago (loved it) so that didn't affect my experience.
Stay well and have a good week!

  10. I have been a "day at a time" person for several years, trying not to project into the future too much. And because we are introverts, as bookish types, I think we are used to being "inward."

I loved Mama Mia and Hope Springs! I think I'll try to watch them soon. Feel good movies.

    Enjoy your week!

  11. I'm a one day at a time person also. Reading helps me relax and keeps my mind off of the horrible things happening, most of the time.

You have some great looking books.

  12. I think that we have to get through one day at a time this year. Cases are increasing where I live but they aren't yet talking about a lockdown. Of course, I really haven't gone off the first lockdown. I only leave home for essentials these days. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  13. I watched the Divergent series a few weeks ago. I missed them when they first came out but I found them streaming free and it made for fun weekend viewing. You have some good looking books on your list. Check out what I read last week.

  15. Hmmm - I read/heard from the MSM that Canada had come through their pandemic. I should know better than to believe them.
I like the looks of The Gentleman and the Thief - looks like a book I would like.
My Hair Went on Vacation looks like a good children's book dealing with illness.
I hope you stay safe. Enjoy all your reading!
