So I'm suffering from another eye infection, this one different from the ones I've had in the past. It's affected my lower lid and caused swelling to my lid and undereye. I look like someone sucker punched me. And it looks like it got worse from all the crying I did from watching The Hate U Give. What a powerful movie! We were three families who went to see it (we all have teen kids who came with us) and even the dads had red eyes after the movie ended. Has anyone seen the movie?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from
Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the
Book Date.
What I read and/or featured last week:
This was a good supernatural thriller.
Yep, it's another Carr book. This one from her renowned Mac Faraday mystery series.
Also posted on the right sidebar.
Hope you all have a great reading week.
Sorry to see your eye is infected - I hope it's not affecting your reading.
ReplyDeleteI've read The Hate U Give and wondered how the movie is. I'm glad to know it's well done.
I wish I had read the book. The movie was powerful.
DeleteOoh Storm Taken looks fun! Sorry to hear about your eye infection! Hope it passes soon.
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about The Hate You Give.
I hope you get the eye infection under control and healing quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe Hate You Give has been on my wish list.
Storm Taken looks good to me and Carr is always a good read/listen. Happy Reading!
The Hate U Give sounds like it was a deeply affecting movie. I haven't seen it! Hope your eye improves, that wouldn't help any reading to get done.
ReplyDeleteIt was. And it has a powerful message.
Deleteso Carr is a really good author? My post is here: https://wordsandpeace.com/2018/11/12/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-november-12/
ReplyDeleteOnce you start one of her books you get addicted to her characters that show up in her other series too. They are fun books!
DeleteSorry about the eye infection. Hope it goes away soon. My daughter read The Hate You Give and said it was a good book. Glad the film was well done.
ReplyDeleteI hope your eye infection clears up soon, and I hope it isn't painful.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the movie, but I have heard of the book.
Take care, dear friend.
I've been meaning to read The Hate U Give, but now I think I should immediately go to the movie.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books...and thanks for visiting my blog.
If you don't have time to read the book, yes, definitely go see the movie.
DeleteSummerton looks eye catching. Enjoy :-)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read The Hate U Give which is on my Kindle. I prefer to read the book then watch the movie. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI always prefer to read the book first but my fronds and kids wanted to see it so I made an exception.
DeleteSorry about your eye troubles. Hopefully it heals quickly. I had an allergic reaction to something about 10 years ago, and I still remember how much my eyelids hurt. They swelled up huge. I haven’t seen THUG yet, but I want to. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It looks like you got some nice books. I hope your eye is better and you have a great week. Anne - Books of My Heart
