My Review:

Stolen Obsession is a romantic thriller that has non-stop action, plenty of romance and cursed jewellery that causes a lot of trouble. Annalisse Drury is an antiquities appraiser who has lost her best friend to murder. At an art event she notices an necklace that is of the same design as the bracelet her friend owned just before she died.

Soon after this discovery, Annalisse warns the gallery owner Generosa Zavos who is also a good friend of hers, to rid herself of the necklace because it is cursed. Enter Alec Zavos, the playboy son of Generosa, who immediately takes a liking to Annalisse and they quickly get thrown together as they try to avoid getting killed by those looking for the necklace.

I was excited by the prospect of learning more about historic jewellery art, but this novel was more of a romance fraught with danger and intrigue to spike up the attraction. Character development is somewhat lacking as one horrific thing after another happens to this couple within a short period of time, that I had to suspend disbelief when they flirted with each other throughout it all and lusted after one another after having experienced death of loved ones. I just couldn't relate to the characters and their actions.

So if you're looking for a thriller with plenty of dangerous situations and romance, this will do nicely. If you're used to deeper characterization and a more realistic plotline, it may not be what you're looking for. Stolen Obsession is the first book in the Annalisse series.
