Sunday Post, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? July 10 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I've had a busy work week this past week. With my teen kids staying up late, my bedtime hour has shifted to a late hour too. My mind wants to shift to vacation mode and it's so hard to get up in the mornings!

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

For review:

This is a coloring book for those with Alzheimer's and the people who love them. Having worked with seniors with Alzheimer's in a day center, I am very interested in this one.

Got these two books free on Kindle this week:

You guessed it. It's another time travel book...

Historical fiction set in Ireland. It's been a while since I read a book with this setting.

A gift from the author:

I assisted the author with the Italian translation of certain phrases in his book and he gifted me a copy. I already read Drawn, the first book, and I look forward to reading this sequel.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I read and/or featured last week:

So far I'm loving this one. It's got a great protagonist and I love his voice.

Stop by and enter my giveaways!

Also posted on the right sidebar.

Hope you all have a great reading week.

  1. Color Your Mind looks nice - I'll be interested in your thoughts for it working with Alzheimer's patients. Nice freebies. I have the second one but missed the first.
It is hard to stay on work time during summer days with kids home. Hope you have a good week and Happy Reading!

    1. So far I love the look of the book, but I think it will appeal more to women than men.

  3. Your current read looks so interesting. LOL I remember summers and shifting our sleep schedule. Now I am old and rise at 7:30 and stay up until 2..hehe

    1. You are NOT old! Ever since I worked with seniors my perception of old changed dramatically. I now think only 90 is old, not 60 or 70 or 80.

I still need so much sleep, at least 8 to 10 hours.

  4. Color Your Mind- what a great idea. And yay for time travel books...

I tend to be a night owl in the summer too especially...

    1. The worse is when you get that second wind and then forget about getting to sleep.

  5. I'm curious: What sets a colouring book for people with Alzheimer's apart from regular colouring books? Also, historical fiction set in Ireland! Is this the YA kind?

  8. I remember the days of my kids staying up late and I wanted nothing more than to go to sleep. I think it made me totally ready for them to go away to college when the time came :) Maria Shriver's book looks interesting.

  9. I know they have coloring books to prevent ALS but didn't know about this one for patients who already have ALS. Interesting.

    1. I'm sorry to say there are no coloring books that can prevent Alzheimer's, only ones that can help to keep the mind active like this one.

  10. I was never good at staying up late when my son did. Who am I kidding, I was never good at staying up late, even when I was a kid. lol

Is that coloring book by THE Maria Shriver?

  11. I've been trying to set a consistent bedtime and waketime now that I'm retired. It gets a little hard to do when my brother works all sorts of different shifts each week and when my favorite baseball team plays games that keep me up past my bedtime though. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. You could always nap in the afternoon. I've read about the benefits of doing so. It's harder for me because I work during the week, but sometimes on the weekends, I give in to a short nap.

    1. I'm glad I was able to help the author. Many times I've read books with Italian phrases that were grammatically wrong. Using Google translate will not cut it.
