One last summer before college on beautiful Tybee Island is supposed to help Sienna forget. But how can she? This is where her family spent every summer before everything changed, before the world as she knew it was ripped away.

But the past isn’t easily left behind. Especially when Sienna keeps having episodes that take her back to the night she wants to forget. Even when she meets the mysterious Austin Dobbs, the guy with the intense blue eyes, athlete’s body, and weakness for pralines who scooped her out of trouble when she blacked out on River Street.

When she’s with Austin, Sienna feels a whole new world opening up to her. Austin has secrets, and she has history. But caught between the past and the future, Sienna can still choose what happens now…

“Johnston’s debut spotlights romance and familial relationships, including themes like grief and self-sacrifice. It’s an ideal story for readers looking for a deep-rooted YA love story with the emotional ups and downs and poignancy of a Nicholas Sparks contemporary. There’s also a touch of wit and a sigh-worthy hero – a definite on your TBR list.”

Respected Lutheran theologians contribute to this well-written book to bring to the 21st century reader the accomplishments and legacy of Martin Luther. Soon is the celebration of the 500th anniversary of 1517 when Luther nailed his “95 theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences” to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Saxony. This book contains 12 chapters, each one written by a Lutheran theologian and giving the reader a deeper sense of how the Lutheran church remembers Martin Luther and his theology. What can the reader expect?

Welcome, Reluctant Stranger is the third book in the Between Two Worlds series by E Journey. I enjoyed the first book Hello, My Love! and also the second book, Hello, Agnieszka! which I can now say was my favorite of the three. All three can be considered stand-alone novels but we have characters from Book One revisit in Book Two and a lot more in Book Three.

There were a few things that attracted me to this book. The first is its cover. It's original and creative, with two walls of graffiti and the handlebars of a bike at its center ready to ride through it. It's just perfect for this book. The first thing my 11 year-old son said when he looked at it was, "How many people can you find in the picture, Mom." He had already explored and dissected that cover and made me take a closer look. The back cover too has more of these images.

Oh, how I loved this book! A small Sicilian village in the early 1900s oppressed by the Vasaio family, and a young man and his father who strive to bring freedom to the villagers through their goodness and their love of opera sums up this beautiful story.

From the very first page, I was transported to Italy, to that small village named Bellafortuna, to a set of colorful characters that reminded me so much of my own uncles and "paesans". LoCoco made me fall in love with Bellafortuna, a small village like many others in Italy but still unique because of its location (up on a hill) and the villagers' love for music and opera.

Hello, Agnieszka! is the second book in the Between Two Worlds series by E Journey. I enjoyed the first book Hello, My Love! You can read my review here. And now I look forward to reading the third book.

First, I'd like to say that I like the book covers of this series. This one is perfect for this novel as it depicts Agnieszka well with her story revolving very much around her passion for playing the piano. Even the serious expression on the woman's face is just right.

Three Days to Forever is a fast-paced, non-stop action-packed thriller with lovable characters, interspersed moments of humor and some jaunty romance. Phew! What a ride.

This is the first time I read a novel by international best-selling author Lauren Carr. And although this is the 9th book in the Mac Faraday Mystery series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Carr made sure to include the cast of characters and their connection to one another at the start of the book. Smart move because it truly helped me to remember who was who.
