Sunday Post, Sunday Salon, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? June 8 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share our news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz is simply a place for us to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. Sunday Salon is a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

Gorgeous weather this weekend. I spent time with family and friends, all while keeping a distance of course. I still find it hard not to approach those that I know and kiss them on both cheeks as is the custom for Italians.

I'm enjoying reading outdoors too, soaking up the sun at the same time. In the evenings I'm watching Medici: Masters of Florence on Netflix.

Happy reading y'all. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

For Review:

A new release by one of my favorite authors.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I reviewed and/or featured last week:

I enjoyed this medieval time travel novel. First book of The After Cilmeri Series.

Excellent self-help for introspection on comparing oneself to others.

    1. I couldn't pass up on it. Middle Eastern cuisine has always been one of my favorite.

  2. Our weather has been nice, too. I snuck onto the porch one morning this week to read a bit.

Whistling Past the Graveyard looks so good. Love the cover, too.

Hope you have a nice week.

  3. Hi Laura,

We are still only allowed to meet in groups of up to 6 and only outdoors, although to be honest, things are all over the place, over here in the UK. There are so many different rules and regulations that you almost need an instruction book for each different circumstance.

Add to that, the weather which saw the hottest, sunniest may on record, has now changed big time, so that it is too cold, wet and windy to meet outdoors and you tell the mood over here!

My blogging and reading has been keeping me sane, so I'm going to focus on a couple of your great books this week - 'Fair As a Star' and 'Whistling Past The Graveyard', both by new to me authors!

Thanks for sharing and here's to better times ahead :)

  4. We had a nice weather week too. I haven't been reading outside though. I'm too prone to sunburn. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  5. I'm also wondering what it will do to the French custom: kissing on the cheeks 2, 3, or 4 times depending on the regions. Regions have been proud of their local tradition, will it all disappear?

    1. I think eventually we will go back to traditions. But it's best to be cautious at this time as tempted as we are to reach out for that hug or kiss!

  7. The weather here has been wonderful, and we are expecting sunny days all this week. Like you, I plan to spend as much time outside as I can.

I love the cover of Pasha of Cuisine. It looks promising.

We visited my dad and my son this week, safely, of course. I hope we can feel safe hugging one day soon.

  8. Our weather has turned hot after 2 weeks of raining 5 days a week. I think we might get 3 days of rain this week which means I have to fit in some lawn mowing again. I watch for the days with the wind from the north. We did have a long and gorgeous spring but it is more summerlike now in NC.

    Enjoy your new reads!

  12. our patio covering kicked the bucket and i have yet to find a new one of some kind, so sitting outside to read isn't much of an option. just too hot and the electronics hate it. i do spend some time in the pool and still managed to read a lot

    1. I love sitting in the heat and sun but that's because our summers are not long and not as hot as some other places.
