I've just returned from NYC where I attended BookExpo. I had a great time both at the event and visiting Times Square and watching the Broadway show Sunset Blvd with Glenn Close. I never knew she could sing. Impressive performance.
Mailbox Monday BookExpo Edition
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.
This year I picked up fewer books than previous years. I just can't bring them all home on the train. My luggage was heavy enough with these beauties:
This is my fiction pile. Many of which are signed by the authors and I can't wait to read them!
This is my MG/YA and non-fiction pile. I had a quick chat in Italian with Rossella Rago about her grandmother's recipes that she included in Cooking with Nonna.
I picked up these two children's books because I just couldn't pass them up.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Such tempting titles! I've been wanting The Beach House: Coming Home.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy them all, and thanks for sharing. Thanks for visiting my blog.
The author has several beach books that she's written. I enjoyed this one.
DeleteLooks like a great haul! Glad you enjoyed Book Expo. Horizon and Infinity have caught my eye with those distinctive covers- I think I'm going to have to go to Amazon and check those out! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Laura!!
The Horizon series are a great mix of genres within the sci-fi context. I hope you check them out.
DeleteWow. That's a ton of books. Armchair Book Expo, getting ready to move, drama club, and a volunteers' tea. Come see what I'm reading this week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're super busy! I have a volunteer's evening organized by by kids' school coming up too.
DeleteThe books look really good (and I've read a few other attendee's comments that they brought home fewer books this year). Looking forward to your posts about Book Expo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! I'm excited about quite a few of them.
DeleteWow, what a haul! I loved It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your experiences with the event. I've never been.
I read Hoover's first book when she was still an Indie author, but haven't read anything since. I'm looking forward to reading this one.
DeleteI was only at BEA a half day and my books aren't here yet but I don't think we got many of the same books which always amazes me. It's like the show is different to every person who attends.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if we were going to bump into each other. It's true that there are so many books and thousands of authors so the variety is endless with books for all sorts of readers. I look forward to seeing your BookExpo haul.
DeleteUGH, I'm so jealous of your Book Expo haul! Next year I've got to go. Hope the books are all fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI used to feel the same way years back when I looked at my fellow bloggers' haul from their time at BookExpo. :-)
DeleteThanks for sharing the book photos. They all look so good.
ReplyDeleteLove the Nonna book.
So glad to hear you a wonderful time. Exciting about the show.
Have a great week.

My Mailbox Monday
I can't wait to see if some of her Nonna's recipes are like my Nonna's recipes!
DeleteWow- what a haul! I need to start planning so maybe I can go to BEA next year. I'm glad you had a good time and I'm looking forward to your impressions. I really liked Horizon and look forward to the sequel. Happy Reading!
