Mailbox Monday for March 27

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at A Girl and Her Books. It is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. I'm Booking It is hosting for the month of March. You can view the touring blog list at Mailbox Monday blog for the upcoming months.

I made a commitment this year to read only the books I really want to read and not just accept any for review. Looking forward to reading these:

The Paper Garden: An Artist Begins her Life's Work at 72 by Molly Peacock (TLC Book Tours)

Mary Delany was seventy-two years old when she noticed a petal drop from a geranium. In a flash of inspiration, she picked up her scissors and cut out a paper replica of the petal, inventing the art of collage. It was the summer of 1772, in England. During the next ten years she completed nearly a thousand cut-paper botanicals (which she called mosaicks) so accurate that botanists still refer to them. Poet-biographer Molly Peacock uses close-ups of these brilliant collages in The Paper Garden to track the extraordinary life of Delany, friend of Swift, Handel, Hogarth, and even Queen Charlotte and King George III.

Queen of the Summer Stars by Persia Woolley (Sourcebooks)

In a country simmering with witchcraft and unholy alliances, Guinevere joins forces with her husband, King Arthur, to gain control of Britain's warring knights. She presides over fabled heroes-including Gawain, Merlin, Tristan and Isolde-and treacherous villains, including Morgan le Fey and Lancelot. Vibrantly human, she reigns as a woman poised to discover the true peril and promise of the human heart. The second novel of this Arthurian trilogy plays out the history and myth of the round table, brought to life through the words of an extraordinary queen.

Trophy by Paul M. Schofield (Galactic Publishers)

TROPHY is an engaging, fast moving and action packed science-fiction adventure with fusion powered star-ships, soldiers of the Planetary Control Corp, half human androids, half animal androids, mind-linked guider/pouncer teams, computer controlled societies, tender moments and riveting action. Highly recommended for young adult and adult readers, the TROPHY saga will continue with sequels and prequels.

The Month of Zephram Mondays by Leslie A. Susskind (from author)

In the Kingdom of Zephram, everyone is magical - everyone except for the Royal Quadruplets: Tom, Lizzie, Ned and Nell. It's tough to be different, even if you are a prince or a princess. And Tom, Lizzie, Ned and Nell are treated differently by everyone in the kingdom! But when evil Prince Persius takes over the kingdom, it's the non-magical Tom, Lizzie, Ned and Nell who are the only ones left to try and save the day. Through their funny and challenging adventures they and those around them come to a better appreciation of the children's skills - and the big difference you can make by being different!

The Kids' (and Parents' Too!) Book of Good Sportsmanship by Leslie A. Susskind (from author)

Do you have little athletes in your family? Then this colorful, engaging book is the perfect way to help them understand what it means - and how important it is - to be a Good Sport. Soccer? Dancing? Swimming? Whatever sport they do, they'll learn easy, basic sports manners through reading familiar situations featuring kids just like them. Parents, you'll also find handy reminders for you with each tip, so that the entire family can learn to be Good Sports together.
