Whenever a variation of a classic story such as Pride and Prejudice is attempted, there is always the danger that the reader who is an avid fan may not accept the new version of a beloved character. Although I was initially excited about this book, I was soon disappointed with To Conquer Mr. Darcy, which reads like the typical romance where the main characters are so engrossed with each other that nothing else is happening in the story.
