It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
What I reviewed and/or featured last week:
I really enjoyed this one. It's a well-written historical fiction novel rich in Irish lore and satisfying in its romantic plot.
Here are a few books I enjoyed that could help with setting your goals for the year

Hope you all have a great reading week.
I've never lived where there was a curfew either, but if ever there was a time for a curfew, it is now. We have, right now, over 800 active cases in my small town. And there's some sort of big group event going on today across the street. No masks I can see. Mercy.
ReplyDeleteI can't even speak about the riot last week. The most awful thing I've witnessed in my lifetime.
I have Coffee here (in fact, I have two copies, both of which I got from people for my birthday) and I will be reading it soon.
I do hope you will have a good, safe week.
The lockdown and curfew are hard measures but it seems we have no choice.
DeleteA curfew sounds like a good idea and fines. The whole approach in the US is just too relaxed an ineffective to do any good.
ReplyDeleteRight, it seemed we were too relaxed here too. Numbers don't lie and something had to be done.
DeleteThis has definitely been a crazy week.
ReplyDeleteI picked up the Innkeeper's House too. It looks good.
Have a great week!
Oh wow that is quite a fine! Things are so bad with this virus everywhere- I hope things get better there soon. We're a mess here, and people are just out and about. It's going to be hard...
ReplyDeleteOur health care system is really suffering. Things MUST get better or we are in deep trouble.
DeleteI hope you adjust all right with the curfew. That would be hard. Hubby and I may be getting vaccinations this coming week. We have to talk to our doctor (NP) to make sure. He is high risk and I am in the age (above 65) risk.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying that tensions calm in our political environment.
Those Ford books still look good to me. You are reading so many at a time. That out does my three open at a time. :-)
Have a good, safe week and Happy Reading!
I'm okay with the curfew. Sun goes down early so it's easier to stay indoors in the winter.
DeleteTake care Laura, sorry where you are in Canada is experiencing such large cases. Yes the poor health systems and the people that man them. Enjoy your reading.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this week is calm. Before the Coffee Gets Cold is one I plan on putting in my tbr soon. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteCurfews and fines have been effective here, I hope they work for you too.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
It reassures me to hear that. Thanks!
DeleteI must read that Tea Cooper book. I have owned it for quite some time now.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I'm over in Ontario and it sounds like they are gearing up to put us into a curfew as well... not looking forward to that announcement that's for sure! Keep your head up though, hopefully things don't go on this way for long!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the review for The Girl in the Painting! It looks fantastic!
Happy reading!
I hope you don't have to go through it, but seems like your numbers are high too. Thanks for the encouragement.
DeleteYour books look very tempting! I am curious about Before the Coffee Gets Cold. Stay safe and locked down...sigh.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
I haven't ever lived under curfew either. I don't think it would change much for me since I've mostly been home since March. Looks like you have lots of good books to read while home though. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWow, Quebec is taking this seriously...which is good! I don't know if there have been any curfews (for this...Portland had some this summer, but for a different reason), but our numbers are really bad.
ReplyDeleteYou actually have consequences for going against the restrictions. I wish we did here. The sheriff has been very adamant that his deputies will not lift a finger to do so, saying it violates people's rights. That includes mask ordinances, curfew and social gathering limitations. Is it any wonder my area is not fairing so well?
ReplyDeleteBefore the Coffee Gets Cold sounds really good. I would like to read that one too. I hope you are enjoying your current reads and enjoy your new ones! Have a great week!
Lots of fines have been given out. The courts will be busy this spring, I'm sure.
DeleteI'm in Quebec too, and yeah, that curfew definitely feels strange! I've never experienced anything like it before either. Let's hope it will help some though.
ReplyDeleteSeduced by a Stranger sounds good, I'll have to look up that series. Have a great week and happy reading!
Yes, it MUST work. Our healthcare system needs a break. I hope you are well. Stay safe!
DeleteI hope the numbers can go down so the curfew lifts soon! Stay safe and enjoy those books!
ReplyDeleteI hope you cope okay with your curfew. It's good to see you will have some great books to read whilst you're stuck at home. Tea Cooper is an Australian author and The Girl in the Painting is a wonderful historical read with a compelling mystery. I really hope that you love it.
ReplyDeleteThere is a curfew here. It started at 8PM, but now they're thinking about bringing it to 6PM everywhere in France - I'm afraid we'll soon going to be on lockdown again, with the UK Covid slowly spreading. I dearly want to read Before the coffee gets cold !
ReplyDeleteThere's a curfew here now, I think, or there was. It doesn't matter we don't go out or go anywhere except the doctor or pharmacy pickup. Stay safe and well!
