Sunday Post, Sunday Salon, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? Nov 8 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share our news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz is simply a place for us to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. Sunday Salon is a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

We started the week with snow and ended it with sunny summer weather. I guess this is our late Indian summer. It's hard to believe it's November except for the early sunset. I'm spending time outdoors soaking in that sun before winter sets in next week. I've been loving the books I'm reading this week. I've also liked watching episodes of My Next Guest with David Letterman on Netflix.

Hope you are all well. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

No review or bought books this week.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I reviewed and/or featured last week:

This is the second book in the The Dread Penny Society series. A fun book with an interesting premise and good characters. And it's part of the Proper Romance series, too.

Apart from reading, I love doing other stuff. There's not enough time in my allotted 24-hours to do all I'd like but I'm content to do these ten things.

Spotlighting a recent release from Jenni Ogden. If you like women's fiction or are looking for a good book club pick, this looks good. I hope to read it soon.

My list of some good nonfiction books I've read this year.

  1. I am leaning toward that new John Grisham book, as I enjoyed A Time to Kill. I am also eyeing The Moon is Missing.

    1. It's no wonder Quebecers flock to Florida in the winter months. We call them snowbirds. Although this winter they will have to stay put and endure our cold winter.

  3. I went through a faze where I've read so many John Grisham's and I loved them all. Then I stopped and actually struggle to get back into it. So I am more than a couple of books behind. I did read The Guardians earlier this year and that was excellent.

I can gladly say I've visited most of your posts this week and I love hopping over to you and say hi!

Hope you will have a wonderful week.

    1. I did the same too in the 90s. It had been awhile since I read one of his books so I borrowed A Time for Mercy from the library. It's worth the read.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog on a regular basis! I love your comments and I love visiting your blog too.:-)

    1. Me too, so I decided to pick this one up when I knew it had the same characters as A Time to Kill. It's just as intense as Grisham's first book.

  8. We're also having beautiful weather this weekend which is a pity because we're all down with some virus and trying to stay inside mostly.

It's been a long time since I've read a John Grisham book. Loved the ones I've read in the past. I should pick one up for nostalgia sake.

  9. We've had Indian summer here too with temps in the 70's. Weird but liking it! And we had a dusting of snow also a week ago lol!

  10. I have the John Grisham novel also. Looking forward to reading it.
We have had some nice mild temps here, in the 70s. This getting dark early I hate but what can we do.

    Have a great reading week!

  11. The early sunsets over the next few months are not fun. I'm glad you're able to take advantage of your Indian summer!

I think I've only watched one episode of My Next Guest... but that was the one with Obama and I loved it. We just never have enough time to watch everything that catches our eye.

I think you recommended Michael McIntyre's comedy several weeks ago? We watched his Netflix special and howled with laughter! Thanks for bringing him to my attention!

    Enjoy your week!

  15. A season of weather in a week practically! It’s slowly warming up here but I’m enjoyed the mild temps.
    Grisham’s new book sounds good.

  16. Last week was gorgeous here too but now it's raining the temperatures are plummeting. It's a good day to nap and listen to my current audiobook. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  17. I've been loving our weather in the 70s for about a month. We are going to get rain mid week and drop to the 60s. But it has been so amazing. Oh well, I'll get to some of my indoor project now. I hope you enjoy some great reads!

    1. It was just a dusting but enough to get us in boots for a few days. Now I'm in flipflops but that won't last long at all.

  19. i don't miss being in the snow, shoveling, scraping car windows, bundling up, but it sure is pretty, especially the first one. we have some weather moving in again, but i think the tropical storm will miss us, staying further south and east.

  20. Oh no on snow.

We have had temperatures in the high 70's for four days. Loved it, but back to the chilly November days.

THE MOM IS MISSING should be good.

Hope you are having a good week.
