I'm loving the longer sunny days even if it's still cold. Snow is melting and it's starting to feel like spring.
So I've decided not to go to BookExpo this year. I'm taking a break. I'm making changes to my work schedule too so I can spend more time with family, friends and myself. I'm on a mission to take better care of my family and my own health. Thus far I am already benefitting from the small changes I've made, such as to go to the gym twice a week instead of once.
I hope you are all well and enjoying your reading week!
Mailbox Monday Edition
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
What I read and/or featured last week:
Sitting Bull: An Immortal Spirit of Resistance (Review) Sandra's review
I'm half-way through this one and enjoying it.

Hope you all have a great reading week.
Sounds like you made a smart decision for yourself and your family. I hope you enjoy your new books and your weather improves :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I do think it's the right decision. And I feel good about having made it.:-)
DeleteFamily is all we really have and I cherish every moment I spend with mine. Your choice sounds like a good one for all of you:) And yep, I believe Spring is finally in the air!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I agree. And it looks like Spring is more alive in your corner of the world than mine, but we'll get there eventually.
DeleteAlthough we didn't get any snow, our temperatures have been winter like (for us anyway). We're ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteI understand the need to take a break from BEA. Enjoy your new books!
Too bad I'll miss seeing you this year at BookExpo. I know you'll have fun!
DeleteThe longer days are nice. and it's the same here- we're getting more sun but it's still pretty cool. Need a spring warm up. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the BookExpo decision was hard, but kudos to you. Those are tough decisions to make but sounds like you're happy with the decision! Have a super week!!!
I love going to BookExpo so yeah, that was a hard decision, but I also have a lot on my plate and need to prioritize. :-)
DeleteSounds like a good decision to focus on family time. Prioritizing is very important. Hope you are enjoying your time travel book. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha. I am, but it's different from the usual time travel books I've read.
DeleteNeat books this week. Good for you taking more time for yourself and your family. It can be tough to do, but always is worth it. Have a great week.

I agree. I tend to always put the kids first, like most moms.
DeleteI like the idea of taking care of yourself and spending time with family and friends. We all need that!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week...and I'm drawn to From the Future with Love.
Thanks for sharing....and for visiting my blog.
Life changes are always good. I just got the Community Ed flyer and am tempted to sign up for a beginning yoga class. I really need to get some regular exercise. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYes, exercise is soooo important, especially as we age and become more sedentary.
DeleteI can't believe I still haven't read anything my Maas. I hope you love it <3
ReplyDeleteSo I'm not the only one! Sometimes it feels like everyone is reading books I'm not. :-)
DeleteI will miss seeing you at the BEA, Laura.
ReplyDeleteTake care, and I am LOVING the sunshine too. Finally!!
I'll miss seeing you too! Maybe next year...
DeleteGood idea to take time for yourself and family, sometimes it is so necessary. Hmm time crossed lovers - sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI've always done the Armchair Book Expo, but that isn't happening this year. So I'm hosting a blog networking event if you are interested. I follow Tosca Lee on social media, and her books sound great. See what I've read at Girl Who Reads
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know, Donna. I will definitely look into it!
DeleteI’m glad your healthy changes are paying off. I’m enjoying the longer days, too. I hate walking the dogs in the dark. Have a great week!
