My Review:
Reviewed by Laura Fabiani
This activity book was designed for book lovers, but I must specify that it was designed for book lovers of classic literature. So if you've read but a handful of the classics and are more well-read with today's authors rather than those who are no longer with us, then you may struggle with finding the answers to the quizzes and trivias. But if you like learning new things about literature, then you will find the activities interesting.
So while some activities were super easy and could have been done by an 8-year-old, such as the mazes and connect the dots, others are difficult if you've never read the classics they are referring to in that particular quiz or trivia. However, I did enjoy learning interesting tidbits about the authors and titles presented. My favorite was matching quotes to books and the quiz on which authors served time in jail for various offenses.
Overall, like the book states, this activity book would be perfect for English majors and literature lovers, but if you're like me who's read some of the classics back in high school or college and can't remember the specifics, then this might not be a fun activity book for you.

About the Author:
This sounds perfect for my mom - I'm going to look for a copy for her.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I'm *sort of* well-versed in the classics but mostly not. Ha ha. It would be fun to learn more, though, and this book looks like a fun way to do it. Great review.
