So it's February and we are deep into winter. I want it to be over soon but we still have a way to go. I've been busy with family throughout the week as we buried my uncle and said our final goodbyes. It was an emotional time, but also a time that allowed me to grow even closer to my sisters, cousins and extended family that I don't get to see often.
I didn't do much reading this week. Every time I tried, my mind was so distracted. I'm itching to get back to my reading routine. I did enjoy visiting several different blogs this past week and I thank all of you who came by and left a comment. I appreciate your support. Hope you all have a great week ahead of you!
Mailbox Monday Edition
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.
No books for review in my mailbox this week.
Got this one free on Kindle:
Yeah...I'm a sucker for time travel tales.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
What I read and/or featured last week:
The Adventures of Popcorn and Jellybean by Robert Gillespie (Review & Giveaway) Another educational chapter book that teaches problem-solving and fun facts about nature.
Full Circle by Regina Timothy (Review) Reviewed by Sandra

I'm glad you had time with your family this week. It helps to be able to reminisce at times of family sadness.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely winter in my area. I hope you enjoy the kindle freebie. Those can be hard to resist!
Yes, so true. Kindle freebies are hard to resist. I'll have plenty of books to read well into my 100s. LOL

ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy.
DeleteSorry for the stressful week but I am glad you had family time to help say goodbye to your Uncle.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me of Tales of a Traveler - I need to read a book where a character has my name for one of my challenges. :-)
Hope this week is better for you. Happy Reading!
I'm glad that you found a book that has a character with your name (for your challenge). Those challenges are always fun.
DeleteI like time travel books too. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I'll pray for peace and comfort for all of you.

ReplyDeleteSugar and Spice and all Those Lies- that's quite a title!
It's catchy, isn't it?
DeleteI'm sorry to hear about your Uncle passing. I hope you're able to get back into your reading routine. I'm ready for winter to be over, I know we have a ways to go but I wouldn't complain about an early spring.

ReplyDeleteI hope things get back to semi-normal soon.
Have a good week, Laura.
My review stack ballooned with a bunch of YA titles this week. Looks like I know what I'll be reading all the way to August. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Getting together with family would have been very nice. My condolences on your loss.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your uncle. I know it can't be an easy time for you. I hope you have been able to get back into your reading again, although I know how difficult that can be. Hemlock looks really good. I hope you enjoy it! I can't resist a time travel book either. :-)
