Woke up this morning to snow falling gently on the ground, blanketing the world outside my window. That first snowfall is always exhilarating, even if I don't particularly like winter and that damp feeling the snow brings.
So, on a different topic, I've noted that whenever I'm feeling stressed, overwhelmed, got too much on my plate, I tend to want to organize and clean stuff out. Makes sense, when you think about it. Clearing out my immediate personal space gives me room to think, so to speak. So what did I do this weekend? I cleaned out my closets, re-organized different small corners of my house, and you know what, I feel better. More in control. Better able to face the crazy weeks ahead.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Hope you all have a great reading week.
We had a little dusting of snow this morning too, just a bit on the ground but it didn't stick around. Still, seeing the flakes fall lazily down was kinda nice. :)
ReplyDeleteRemember, Remember looks fun.
Oh - waking to falling snow, what a dream! I totally get tidying and clearing when stressed, I reckon great idea. The Indigo Girl looks ineresting.
ReplyDeleteI think that Scotland were due to get a dusting of snow overnight on Sunday, but down south we definitely won't be seeing any of the white stuff just yet!
ReplyDeleteSometimes if I am feeling really low, a good sort out and clean will do the trick, other times I just can't be bothered to motivate myself to do anything other than wander aimlessly around complaining about everything - Guess which option hubbie prefers? :)
'The Indigo Girl' sounds really good and that you received it as a surprise, is even better. Definitely one for my list, I can't ignore it that's for sure.
Thanks for sharing and have a great week :)
Yvonne
The Indigo Girl looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteWe had our first good rain of the season. I'm hopping for more soon. Come see what I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen snow yet but it's just a matter of time. Hope you love The Indigo Girl!
ReplyDeleteI hope we don't see any snow this year! I'm glad cleaning out helped you feel better. I Love a Book has to be good.
ReplyDeleteI like to "clean out" too. I actually did that the weekend before. :) I found some memories as well as a lot of stuff to throw out - no reason to keep bank statements from the 90's. :)
ReplyDeleteENJOY your books and your week. Glad you aren't as stressed.

My Mailbox Monday
Remember Remember sounds good. I love any book with Sherlock Holmes. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI agree about organizing things and how that task makes us feel better. My biggest overhauls in the last few years were the series of book purges a couple of years ago. Recently I cleared out my closet...although there is more to be done. Clearing out desk and cupboard drawers was another satisfying task.
ReplyDeleteI am curious about The Indigo Girl. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Great Post! Happy Reading!

Cute books! You're a lot like me. When I get stressed I clean my office. Right now I am catching up on Mailbox Monday and then plan to get the downstairs in order for Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely holiday.
