Sunday Post, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? July 31 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I can't believe this Monday is the last day of July!! The hot sunny weather just seemed to arrive this week. We went to Super Aqua Club on Friday and slid down those crazy slides and soaked up the sun. It finally felt like summer again after the unseasonably cooler days we had.

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

For review:

This one is YA sci-fi dystopian. I've enjoyed this genre in the past and look forward to this one.

I like children's books that celebrate diversity and cultures.

Got these free on Kindle:

Another time travel book...

When I'm in the mood for something different...

I'm not a big romance reader but something about this book appealed to me. The red dress...the pirate...the historical setting in Cornwall...

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I read and/or featured last week:

I'm intrigued with the whole history of the sworn virgins of Albania now that I'm reading this book. I'm enjoying it.

Stop by and enter my giveaways!

Also posted on the right sidebar.

Hope you all have a great reading week.

  2. Ooh water park fun in the summer! Glad the weather cooperated! We haven't been to the water park yet this summer- we need to correct that soon before we run out of time. Yikes.

Watcher looks good. I still like a good dystopian.

    1. We have so few hot days that taking advantage of them seems the only way to get the most out of summer.

    1. How cool! I love when things like this happen. Keep in touch if you want to discuss the book. I read lots of non-fiction books on wellness and this one offered a new concept.

  8. I also like diverse children’s books so I’ll have to look into Sanya Sahni. My daughter is teaching first grade this year in a diverse school so this could be perfect. ;)

  10. Hi Laura,

Your unseasonably wet and cool run of weather has reached our UK shores now, although I have to make myself unpopular with most and say that I much prefer it to the hot and sticky conditions we have had recently!

Like yourself, I too am not a huge romance reader, however I can see why you were attracted to 'The Rogue'. The cover is quite alluring and it is set in Cornwall, one of my most favourite places.

My own current read is also set in Cornwall, as are the other 3 or 4 books written by this author. I am only about a quarter done with 'Under A Cornish Sky' By Liz Fenwick, but so far, it is more than meeting my expectations!

Thanks for sharing your haul and have a great reading week :)

  11. We used to love the water park when our kids were young. You have many new books that I am eyeing. The Watcher looks particularly like one I would like. I have the first book in the Julianne MacLean series to read someday. Sorry I missed these freebies.
Have a good week and Happy Reading!
