I'm enjoying my summer so far with get-togethers with friends, good reading and a more relaxed routine. I saw the movie Wonder Woman and thought it was fantastic. Hope you're all enjoying your lazy summer days!

I'm always attracted to books that deal with mental illness.
The House at the Edge of Night by Catherine Banner
I bought this one at Costco. When I saw that it was set in Italy I just couldn't resist!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

Enjoy your books! I'm curious about A Penny Lost. The House at the Edge of Night has a lovely cover...I am intrigued.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I can't resist covers with stunning Italian coastlines!
DeleteGlad you're having a great summer so far! And I'm looking forward to Wonder Woman, everyone says it's great!
ReplyDeleteYou 1, anxiety 0 and House at the Edge of Night both look good.
I hope you love WW as much as I did!
DeleteI thought the Catherine Banner book looked familiar and when you mentioned Costco I thought "of course, that's where I saw it". I can't go to Costco and not peruse the book tables :) Hope you love it and all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteI love perusing the book table at Costco too. I love it when I see books I'v already read.
DeleteNice mailbox! House at the Edge of Night looks perfect for you!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteYou have a cool mix of new arrivals. Yeah for the Costco find. I love time travel romances too! Hope you have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI noticed you do too. Time travel romances are hard to resist.
DeleteGreat to hear about your summer!! I just wish it would "heat up" here. :)
ReplyDeleteYou did have a good mailbox. I haven't heard of any of the books, but A PENNY LOST looks good.
THE HOUSE AT THE EDGE OF NIGHT has a gorgeous cover.
Have a good week.

My Mailbox Monday
Our weather goes up and down. But I'm happy it's summer regardless. Can't change the unchangeable.:-)
DeleteEnjoy all those great books!
ReplyDeleteThe YA book looks great and so does the anxiety book, hope it has good tips.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Thanks Kathryn.
DeleteA Penny Lost sounds good. It's been a busy week with a cracked toilet, day camp, and paperwork for cross country. Come see what I'm reading
ReplyDeleteOh my, it does sound like you had your hands full!
DeleteNice covers in a good, varied mailbox. I had to jump off to Amazon to see if I got Swept Away - I did. :-) I like time travel romance too. Hope you have another good week and Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you caught Swept Away too!
DeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteYou have some great new books this week, although the one which particularly caught my eye, was 'The House At The Edge Of Night', as I do enjoy a good family saga and like yourself, the cover art and location had me captured right from first sight!
'Appointment With Yesterday' also sounds intriguing, although I think that perhaps a different title might have had more impact and appeal. I hope that you are enjoying the book and I shall watch for your review!
Thanks for sharing and enjoy the summer. Holidays don't officially begin here until the children break up at the end of July :)
Yvonne
Appointment with Yesterday is such a good read and I agree with you that a different title and cover would make it more appealing. I consider it an Indie gem.
DeleteTime slip is a new description for me. You learn something new every day!
ReplyDeleteTime slip is like time travel, but can be used when referring to a parallel world and another dimension rather than travelling to a different time period in our known history.
