I'm reading books faster than I can review and post about them. I'm actually binge reading. Late spring does that to me. I need some escapism and books are great for that.
Flooding continues to be a problem in Montreal. Our bike paths along the rivers in some areas are closed off because the river waters have overflowed onto them and homes on the Western tip of the island and surrounding areas are so flooded that in the town of Rigaud the mayor has declared a state of emergency and ordered residents to leave their homes. It doesn't help that it keeps raining! So sad. Hope you are all having a good Sunday.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

I'm so sorry to hear about all the rain - water is so destructive. I'm glad you're reading so much, though! Happy Mother's Day, Laura!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy.
DeleteThat's awful about the flooding- sorry to hear that. Here's hoping the rain stops soon...
ReplyDeleteGlad the reading is going well though! I love binge reading...
Horizon and Infinity both look really interesting. I like those covers. I'll be checking those out!
I don't often get a chance to binge read but right now it's keeping me sane! :-)
DeleteToo much rain can be so problematic, and it is especially sad in areas where there has been drought...so the rain is a mixed blessing.
ReplyDeleteWe had more rain than we needed this year, but after years of drought, we were definitely ambivalent.
Enjoy your books, which are all new to me; thanks for visiting my blog.
So true Laurel...
DeleteSorry to hear about the continued flooding. Hope the rain stops for you soon.
ReplyDeleteI could probably binge read if I didn't chose to do the reviews and blog posts. :-)
I'm enjoying the Carr mysteries and looking forward to the Lord sci fi books.
Happy Reading!
I know...writing and posting is very time consuming. I'm enjoying Carr's books too and just started on Lord's books.
DeleteI Love how well the covers for Horizon and Infinity look together. New to this series but the covers intrigue me. Hope you enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteMy It's Monday! What Are You Reading? post.
I started reading Horizon and I'm enjoying it!
DeleteSo sorry to hear about the flooding! Have you started reading The Sheikh's Son yet, and is it any good? (It looks like something I might like but Free on Kindle can be such a gamble! LOL) Here's my Reading list this week - http://bit.ly/2qnfC3g
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
Nope, haven't started The Sheikh's Son yet. Might get to it in the summer.
DeleteI'm trying to read ahead and get review scheduled. I know the first couple of weeks in June will be chaotic with ending work and moving. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteOh my on the floods....be safe.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE reading ahead, but this month and next I will be visiting and have visitors so I hope I get everything done.
ENJOY your week, Laura.

My Mailbox Monday
Thanks Elizabeth! Enjoy your guests and your visiting.
DeleteI hope the weather moves on and things dry out. Flooding is terrible. Back in the '60s when I was a little girl, my hometown (along the Mississippi River) would flood every spring. They finally forbid any more building near the river and several owners had their homes relocated to higher ground. That area continues to flood every year.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week, Laura!
Wow, I can't imagine what it must have been like to get flooded every year.
DeleteHope you will share a few tips from Headstrong next week! I guess one I could think of for myself would be to stay off social media!! Flooding is terrible and it seems so more prevalent these days everywhere.
ReplyDeleteHead Strong is so enlightening. I'm really enjoying it!
DeleteHow did I miss that you're in Montreal? I've been watching the flooding news from here. I hope the weather normalizes soon.
ReplyDeleteI had a great week of reading and a fun mother's day. Come see what I'm reading now.
Oh wow, that's a lot of rain! I work two days a week with a long commute and I was jokingly saying that it has rained every Friday for months. It's no fun trying to get around flooded roads.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your binge reading!
Enjoy your books.
