This was such a fun and witty novel.
Beautiful and charming Vidia Swanson, a British spy with a secretive
past, meets her match with fellow spy, Lucien Carstairs. Sparks fly
and their attraction is made all the more dangerous when Vidia
discovers she is being watched because they think her a double agent
working for the enemy—a tainted angel. Throughout their
relationship, readers are kept guessing who is fooling who and why. A
tantalizing romp and game of cat and mouse set in Regency England,
this tale will keep you entertaining until the last page.
I enjoyed this novel because it was
different from what I mostly read. I loved trying to figure out what
was really happening behind all the deception. What was true and what
wasn't? It was toward the end that I clued in to what exactly was
going on, but the journey getting there was fun. And what a gorgeous book cover! I thought it very appropriate to the story.
Vidia was an independent woman who
loved danger. She easily carried a pistol and could defend herself in
almost any situation. Of course, some of it was far-fetched, but I
didn't care. And although she had nerves of steel and could keep her
cool, Lucien had the capacity to make her heart beat faster and arouse in her feelings that clouded her
judgement. There is a
lot of sex in this book. More than what I like to read. Some of it is
explicit and very passionate.
If you like romance novels that are clever and witty, Tainted Angel is fun to escape with.

Note: This book is rated S = sexual content, some of it explicit. There are some mild religious expletives in the Portuguese language.
