Back to work was brutal this week. Plus, I developed an eye allergy (puffy, itchy and red) which slowed down my reading considerably. It's better now, but I still can't wear my contacts.
Spoke to my sister who lives in Spain. They are experiencing a second wave of COVID-19. I'm bracing myself for a challenging fall.
Hope you are all well. Stay safe and take care of each other.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.
What I reviewed and/or featured last week:
This is a heartwarming story of a wild Mustang horse and the young teen girl who loves it.

After seeing all the great reviews, I requested this one from the library.

Hope you all have a great reading week.
The Lions of Fifth Avenue seems nice! Sorry to hear about your eye allergy. Tell me about it! I've been wearing glasses for the past 12 years after I've developed chronic eye infections and am not allowed to wear contacts anymore. Hope your eyes are better soon!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great week!

My eye doctor changed my saline solution. She says that over time we can become allergic to the ingredients in the solution.
DeleteFiona Davis is the daughter of an old member of our book club, and we read her first book at her bidding. It was fabulous. She did a Facetime with our group, and we first heard her speak. When I was at BookExpo I got to meet her in person. Such a kind and gracious person. I look forward to hearing what you think about her new book.
ReplyDeleteI've completely abandoned my contacts in favor of a beautiful pair of glasses. It's just so much easier to wear them, I think. I hope your allergy clears up soon.
Your poor sister. I understand completely. It's still a mess here, even though people are (finally!) starting to wear masks.
Have a good week.
I've been wanting to read Fiona Davis' books for some time now and I hope to read not only this latest ones but her previous books too.
DeleteI have antihistamine eye drops which I usually only need in April. I think we are still in the first wave in the US; we just stay home but we like to be at home. I hope your next week at work is less demanding.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I'm hoping this won't be a recurring eye problem. Eye drops do help.

I've been wearing contacts for decades and I hope to continue wearing them, hopefully!

I may try daily wear contacts if the monthly wear becomes harder to wear. I like the Sea Gate cover too. :-)
DeleteI get a similar eye irritation and it can be painful and annoying I use Refresh Optive and it helps quite a bit. I had to give up contacts after I kept getting infections.
ReplyDeleteYou have a couple of good looking books there. I have seen Lions of Fifth Avenue around a lot. Will be interested in your view. Hope your eye clears very soon.
ReplyDeleteI have The Sea Gate requested from the library. I am looking forward to getting it. I also need to read Fiona Davis! One day.
ReplyDeleteI've heard Fiona Davis books are good so I have high expectations for this one.
DeleteSorry about the tough work week and the eye problems. My eyes are also suffering, but it’s because of the wildfires and all the smoke in the air. I can’t imagine trying to get contacts in right now. I hope your sister stays safe. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I'm preparing for another wave this fall. Our school district has set up a decent plan in an effort to keep kids safe. Not sure how easy it will be on parents, but we will see how things go.
