Sunday Post, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? Jan 22 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Everyone seems to be sick around me, fighting colds and sore throats. I've been doing great up until a few hours ago when I started sneezing and getting watery eyes and sniffles. Hopefully with some vitamin C and a good night rest I can fight this.

Hope you're all having a great reading week!

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

My mailbox!
For review:

I'm reading and reviewing this book for Multicultural Children's Book Day on Jan 27. Isn't she adorable?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organise yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I read and/or featured last week:

Kiss Carlo by Adriana Trigiani (Book Spotlight & Giveaway!) I read this one last fall and the paperback is on tour with Italy Book Tours in January.

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Resolutions/Goals I'm working on a few things in 2018 to improve my overall blogging experience

Degrees of Love: A Novel by Lisa Slabach (Review and Giveaway!) Wow! This one blew me away with its emotional intensity. Hard to believe this was a debut novel.

  1. I hope you don't end up getting sick like everyone around you. It seems like everyone around me at work is sick too. Where Will I Live by Rosemary McCarney sounds like it will be a touching read. I hope you have a great week!

  2. Hope you don't get sick! There is so much going around...

Where Will I Live seems so timely. I'll have to check that one out...

    Have a wonderful week!

    1. Yes, it is timely. It contains photographs of refugee children around the world. makes me sad.

  3. I hope you stay well!! The flu is horrible down here so I keep washing my hands like crazy.

    1. Washing our hands is one of the best and simplest ways to avoid catching it.:-)

  4. I hope you stay healthy too. (Reminds me to take some Airborne when I go to the kitchen.) Where Will I Live sounds heart wrenching. Hope you have a good week and stay warm.

  5. Oh no. Sending healing prayers your way. We don't want you sick.

Necessities has a neat cover. Good luck with all your goals.

  6. I hope you are feeling better. This has been a horrible season for folks getting sick. :(

  7. Feel better! Hopefully you can stave off the major illnesses that are all around.

Enjoy your books, and I'm curious about Degrees of Love. Necessities has a striking cover.

Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  8. I hope you can stave off the illness a little longer.

  9. So many bugs going around right now. I hope you feel well soon!

  10. ENJOY your week!!

I hope you didn't get sick. HUGS!!

  11. Hi Laura,

So far hubbie and I have managed to avoid getting sick, but as we are both in public liaison roles and just about everyone we come into contact with has one or another of the various bugs and viruses going around, I guess it is only a matter of time! I hope that you manage to remain germ free :)

I must admit that I almost dismissed the Boyd Taylor book without checking it out. The cover art was definitely a little off-putting, as was that of the rest of the series. However, I found the premises intriguing to say the least and definitely worthy of consideration and when seen together, the book covers are actually quite clever and stunning ... A case in fact, of not judging a book by its cover!

Thanks for sharing and Stay Well this week :)

    1. I felt the same way about the series. But now that I've read all the books I feel the book covers are spot on for this series. :-)

  12. I hope you didn't get sick!

    Have a good week!
