Our thoughts:

A book about monsters? Okay, my son and I couldn't resist. Monsters Inc is one of our favorite movies. This is a heartwarming story about two boys who discover a monster that eats dirty socks. The smellier and dirtier, the better. But they have a problem. What to do about all the lost socks? They make a plan to capture the monster and discover something unexpected!

This book was cute and funny. As soon as it was over, my son wanted to read the second book. We both liked the story and the characters. The monsters stole the show, though.

My son noticed immediately that the author illustrated the book himself and paid special attention to them. He has a keen eye for different forms of art. He loved the illustrations in this book. They are colorful with beautiful earth tones. Here are two:

Our first introduction to Monster

The adorable little monsters!
When my son and I came upon the adorable little monsters pic we instantaneously said, "Aaawwww" and my son continued, "Oh, mom they are so cute!" Yes, these monsters were too adorable.

This simple story has big heart. It's well-written and easy to follow and perfect for the young reader. The illustrations are very well-suited to the story. They are full and eye-catching, complimenting the storyline. We look forward to reading more from A.J. Cosmo who is giving away not only two Kindles loaded with his books, but also more free books on his website. Cosmo's books are perfect to have handy on your tablet or phone to read to your little one at any time.

And now for our special interview with Monster himself:

I recently sat down with Argyle, the star of A.J. Cosmo's "The Monster That Ate My Socks," for a brief interview about the book's first printing.

L: Welcome Argyle, thank you so much for joining us.
A: Pleasure Mine.

L: Why don't you start by telling us about your book?
A: Yes, it's about a boy that catches me for no reason.

L: Forgive me, Argyle, but are you sure that's true?
A: Yes! I innocent. Eat delicious socks, get thrown in cage! Who real monster?

L: Surely you can’t expect children tolerating monsters sneaking into their rooms at night and eating their clothes?
A: Oh? Why not? They have plenty socks. Come in big tasty packs. Shoes cause holes in socks, socks get thrown out, no one trap shoes.

L: True. However, that's expected. You, Argyle, are not.
A: Is that question? Me thought this interview, not hunt.

L: Moving on, can you tell us a bit more about yourself? Do you have any hobbies?
A: Oh, me have lots hobbies. Do much outreach. Me big supporter of Burrows for Inhumanity.

L: Excuse me, burrows for what now?
A: Inhumanity. It charity organization to destroy habitats so monsters can live there. Did you know that each year hundreds of monsters lose homes to development? Me and other monsters wreck shiny places, make nice home for new monsters. Make sure everyone have home.

L: That's wonderful that you think of others. Do you have any other interests?
A: Well my three kids keep much busy. Hopefully they grown soon and find own socks! (laughs)

L: How wonderful you have little ones. I'm sure you make a great parent.
A: Me try. It hard world out there. Me know me make much better parent than Xdegoogly.

L: Oh, why is that?
A: Xdegoogly eat them.

L: Well, look at the time. Before we go, do you have any future projects in the works?
A: Yes, me work on screenplay with James Franco. Much buzz.

L: I'm sure that will be wonderful. Thank you again for taking the time to speak with us.
A: Me pleasure. Thank you.

L: Our guest was Argyle from A.J. Cosmo's "The Monster That Ate My Socks" available now in print and for your Amazon Kindle.
