What makes a person successful? According to author Kenny J. Anderson, a successful person adheres to universal principles in all aspects of his life. As I read through his book, I agreed that the seven universal formulas he explains in his book do work to get the results one wants because they are based on having “a proper balance and building our lives on a solid foundation of correct principles.” I've always believed this, and having studied Bible teachings for most of my life, I know what that solid foundation of correct principles is. Reading this book just made me realize how much wisdom I've acquired through my studies, and I appreciated how the author brought it all together as a blueprint for success in life.

What he says makes sense. It's not magic. If one learns to make good choices, to apply knowledge learned and to keep a positive outlook, along with doing hard, honest work, one can dream big and be successful. There are no short cuts in life. He makes that clear. The author's voice is also positive and kind as he believes everyone can reach their full potential if they follow these seven formulas.

Most of us know these formulas, but we don't always apply them consistently to all aspects of our lives. For example, there are universal laws that if disobeyed will bring about consequences. In other words, what you sow, you shall reap. To illustrate, if you want to have financial independence, you must spend less than you make. If you want to have optimum health, you need to eat nutritious food and exercise. This is easier said than done, but it's the truth nonetheless.

Anderson also stresses that these formulas need to be applied to the five core values of our lives to achieve a balanced life and total success. These common values are faith, relationships, personal development, health and resources (time and money). I couldn't agree more. The advice in this book is rock solid and simple, yet profound. They were good reminders for me. No matter your racial background, if you are struggling to be balanced in life, attain financial freedom or succeed at work, this book will motivate you to get going on your way to success. Recommended.
