Although I have an obsession about checking my mailbox ever time I leave the house to walk with my kids to school (in the mornings, at lunch and at the end of the school day) I was actually glad I only received two books this past week, since my last mailbox Monday was a full one. So what did I get?
The Green Bronze Mirror by Lynne Ellison
Publisher's Synopsis: Karen is playing on the beach when she finds an ancient mirror buried in the sand. She looks into it, and is transported back in time to the Roman empire. Finding herself a slave, she faces many hair-raising adventures in her struggle to return to her own time.
This long-lost work of young adult Roman fantasy/ historical fiction in the great tradition of Rosemary Sutcliff, first published in 1966 and since out of print, has been reprinted in a new paperback edition with brand-new illustrations by Philip Smiley. The book is now available from Cnposner Books.
And the second book I received was A Change of Altitude by Anita Shreve, which I won from Laura's Reviews. Thanks, Laura and Hachette Group!
So what did you receive in your mailbox?

I know what you mean--I am borderline obsessive about checking the mail everyday because I know books are coming! It is also nice to have a slow week every so often so my husband doesn't think I've gone off the deep end. LOL
ReplyDeleteHere's my mailbox.
I've come to like my light weeks : ) Enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteI love checking the mail and it's so pleasing to get either a letter or a book. I think that pleasure is less for the generation growing up since they almost never get delicious things through the mail. That said, I had a slow week too and that was totally okay! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love time travel novels! Hope you enjoy your book!
ReplyDeleteLooks like two great books. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI have an obsession with checking my mailbox, too! I know it comes at 3pm and it drives me nuts when it's not THERE at 3pm and I have to check every 15 minutes after that, LOL! I love getting the mail. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great mailbox week!
