Sunday Post, Sunday Salon, Mailbox Monday and It's Monday What Are You Reading? August 23 Edition

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share our news. A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Sunday Salon hosted by Readerbuzz is simply a place for us to link up and to share what we have been doing during the week. Sunday Salon is a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

Back to work was brutal this week. Plus, I developed an eye allergy (puffy, itchy and red) which slowed down my reading considerably. It's better now, but I still can't wear my contacts.

Spoke to my sister who lives in Spain. They are experiencing a second wave of COVID-19. I'm bracing myself for a challenging fall.

Hope you are all well. Stay safe and take care of each other.

Mailbox Monday Edition

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Mailbox Monday now has a permanent home on its blog. Link up to share your MM.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's a great post to organize yourself. It's an opportunity to visit and comment, and er... add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date.

What I reviewed and/or featured last week:

This is a heartwarming story of a wild Mustang horse and the young teen girl who loves it.

Currently Reading:

After seeing all the great reviews, I requested this one from the library.
I'm starting it today.

Also posted on the right sidebar.

Hope you all have a great reading week.

  1. The Lions of Fifth Avenue seems nice! Sorry to hear about your eye allergy. Tell me about it! I've been wearing glasses for the past 12 years after I've developed chronic eye infections and am not allowed to wear contacts anymore. Hope your eyes are better soon!

    Wishing you a great week!

    1. My eye doctor changed my saline solution. She says that over time we can become allergic to the ingredients in the solution.

  2. Fiona Davis is the daughter of an old member of our book club, and we read her first book at her bidding. It was fabulous. She did a Facetime with our group, and we first heard her speak. When I was at BookExpo I got to meet her in person. Such a kind and gracious person. I look forward to hearing what you think about her new book.

I've completely abandoned my contacts in favor of a beautiful pair of glasses. It's just so much easier to wear them, I think. I hope your allergy clears up soon.

Your poor sister. I understand completely. It's still a mess here, even though people are (finally!) starting to wear masks.

    Have a good week.

  3. I have antihistamine eye drops which I usually only need in April. I think we are still in the first wave in the US; we just stay home but we like to be at home. I hope your next week at work is less demanding.

    1. I'm hoping this won't be a recurring eye problem. Eye drops do help.

  7. I feel the pain on your eyes. I hope they get better soon. Daily wear lenses have really helped ease my eye troubles.
Sometimes it is hard to get back to work after a nice break.

  11. Sorry about the tough work week and the eye problems. My eyes are also suffering, but it’s because of the wildfires and all the smoke in the air. I can’t imagine trying to get contacts in right now. I hope your sister stays safe. Have a great week!

  12. I'm preparing for another wave this fall. Our school district has set up a decent plan in an effort to keep kids safe. Not sure how easy it will be on parents, but we will see how things go.
