Book Description:
Finding the one is only the beginning...
1954. Zara is fifteen the first time she meets Leon. During a power cut in a small French museum, the two spend one short hour in the dark talking about their love for art, Monet and Paris. Neither knows what the other looks like. Both know their lives will never be the same.
1963. In Paris, Leon no longer believes he will ever find the girl he lost that night. After dreaming about him for years, Zara thinks she has already found him. When they meet at an exhibition, they don't recognize each other – yet the way they feel is so familiar...
Over the course of twenty years, Zara and Leon are destined to fall in love again and again. But will they ever find a way to be together?
'It's about dreams and taking chances. Missed opportunities and mistakes. Loss and sacrifice. But above all, it is about love. The kind of love that survives time, distance... even death. The kind of love I wish for you.'
A magical new love story about star-crossed lovers, perfect for hopeless romantics and fans of One Day and The Notebook.

I saw this one advertised on Bookbub and well, that book cover...it just got to me. I bought it and started reading it right away. If you're in the mood for a magical love story, this is it. If you believe in soulmates, this is it.
This is the story of Zara and Leon, who met one day in a French museum in the dark after the electricity went out. They never saw each other's faces but from that day on they've searched for each other. Their story starts when they are fifteen and continues on into their adulthood as they keep getting drawn to one another through their magical foreshadowing dreams (they are somehow connected to each other). They always come close to meeting again but somehow miss each other over and over.
This is a character-driven novel, set mainly in France. It follows the lives of four individuals: Zara, Leon, Nicole, and Vincent who are interconnected throughout the years and whose actions affect the lives of all four, even if they did not know it. It's a story about finding the love of one's life and following one's dreams. It's also about the beauty and love of art and its restoration.
It's beautiful, at times sappy and yes, even tragic, but eventually, the two star-crossed lovers find each other as was meant to be. It's not a typical love story, but a special one. It's about the power of that one enduring burning love that many people dream of and few find.

About the Author:
An unapologetic citizen of the world, she spent a few years in Greece, Sweden, France, and more recently in the US. Olivia now lives in sunny California with her photographer husband and daughter, where she works as a marketing executive and writes. Oh, and let's not forget the ever-growing menagerie that completes the family: Pumpkin—a Maine Coon mix, three black cats, and a Siamese kitten.
When she's not writing or thinking about writing, she reads (across all genres), watches old movies and collects vintage books, vinyl, and eerie paintings.
