This was a heavy work week. I attended two work conferences, one of which tackled the issue of Cannabis and the Aging Adult as more and more seniors in Canada (where cannabis is legal) are turning to this plant for treatment of cancer, MS and chronic pain. We had the director of Medical Research of the McGill health centre give us a crash course on Cannabis 101. So interesting!
My reading was slow this week only because I lacked the time and energy. Hope you are all reading great books!

I'm surprised it's the seniors who are turning to cannabis but, then again, I think it would have helped my mother-in-law a lot at the end of her life.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week in books!
I know, right! Statistics Canada has seen a rise in seniors using cannabis and now want to educate seniors in the proper usage, which I think is a great idea.
DeleteI always enjoy conferences where you learn things and meet people and get some other perspectives. I hope your next week is wonderful and more relaxing. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Me too!
DeleteSounds like you had a busy week with the conferences. I hope you enjoy your books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post is here.
That sounds so interesting about cannabis and how seniors are turning to it for help. And my reading was down this week too. I hardly read anything!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great new week ahead.
Cannabis is legal here in MA too. Several dispensaries have cropped up. It's interesting to watch it develop from a real estate perspective.
ReplyDeleteTo Con A Gentleman sounds good. Hope you have a great week. Thanks for visiting my blog.

And it is legal in California, too.

DeleteSounds like an interesting conference. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of Killer Resolutions! I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that one when you finish. It has been a busy week here too but that just seems to be the new normal lately. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove the title of TO CON A GENTLEMEN.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Laura.
That is really interesting about cannabis and ageing. We are talking about making it legal here in NZ but so far it hasn't got the go ahead. I am not sure I'd agree with it but medically if it does good then that has to be good.
ReplyDeleteI like your books very much especially the M J Rose one.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that the legal cannabis is helpful and not harmful over time. Certainly proper usage is important, like any medication.
ReplyDeleteKiller Resolutions makes me start to think of New Years.
Hope you get more reading in this week. Happy Reading!
